Prison Radio Show – January 9, 2014

We have an interview with Ian DeBeer, a 26 year-old former graffiti writer who was incarcerated for nine months in a Pennsylvania state prison.

We have reports on New Year’s Eve Noise Demos that took place outside prisons in various cities around the world. Noise Demos are organized as a show of solidarity to those locked behind prison walls. Noise demos also denounce the use of incarceration as a way of dealing with social problems as well as the criminalization of dissent of those fighting against injustices.

We re-broadcasted a report on the release of political prisoner Lynne Stewart, whose case we’ve been covering for some time. This report was produced by Democracy Now!
