An interview with Assistance Professor in Sociology at Memorial University in Newfoundland, Justin Piche. Piche gives a review on the Conservative government’s punishment agenda as well as the implications of how this punishment agenda could affect workers, both incarcerated and non-incarcerated, in the future.

Prisoners incarcerated in the – Palo Gordo – prison of Giron Santander, in Colombia, have announced that more than 754 prisoners, including social and political prisoners, have initiated an indefinite hunger strike.

An update on the case of CeCe McDonald, a Black Trans woman who was arrested and falsely charged with murder after being violently attacked. CeCe McDonald, who gained much local and global support, has now been sentenced.

An interview with Charlotte Morrison Senior Attorney with Equal Justice Initiative. On May 22 EJI filed a complaint with the U.S. Justice Department calling for a swift and thorough federal investigation into widespread sexual abuse of women prisoners by male guards at Tutwiler Prison for Women in Wetumpka, Alabama.
